June 11th

Today you will pull out your eight objects sheet and begin your final. For those who were absent or didn't finish their sheet, you can use my pre-made one for the final. After we will be cleaning our cubbies out and then enjoying some treats I brought from the store.  It has been an adventure these past six months and I thank you for being apart of it!

A lot of you are finished with the non-objective project, so I will give directions for the new assignment today in class. Don't freak out, this mini project will help you on the final! Click here for instructions. If you didn't finish your non objective today is the last in class day to work on it. You will have to take it home or work on it before or after class.

Excellent blending with the colored pencils!

Wonderfully creative non-objective drawings so far! Remember when you begin with the colored pencils your entire composition needs to be in color, rich layered colors. I will demo this in class. If you are absent feel free to email or come talk to me about using the nice prisma colors.

I'm so glad to be back! Ms. Gilmour tells me that you are still working on your objective silhouettes, I am excited to see everyone's drawings. Lets look at an artists today who makes a living at making silhouettes as well as fashion merchandising, there are careers out there that support these artistic talents!

I am really sick and unable to make it to class today, my apologies. Mrs. GIlmour will be taking over and helping you guys put the finishing touches on your 2pt perspective drawings. Have a great weekend and I will see you all soon, can't wait to see your final pieces!

May 16th

Today's warm up activity will consist of watching me demo colored pencils on our final project. If you are absent please come talk to me before or after class. Today the goal is  to have your final image transferred to a new piece of paper (so we don't see your horizon or orthogonal lines).

Check out today's warm up! Whats wrong with the perspective? Is everything receding into space? After our discussion we will continue working on our 2pt perspective drawings.

May 14th

After reviewing your sketchbooks I see that the majority of the class is right on with 1pt perspective, however there are a lot of students who are struggling with 2pt perspective. I have come up with a helper warm up which you can find below. I want everyone to practice triangles, squares, rectangles, and shapes with holes in them. Don't stress, 2pt perspective is tricky but we will all get the hang of it!

Great sketches with the 1pt perspective yesterday! Today we are moving right along to 2pt perspective, this can be much more fun and challenging. Complete the step by step warm up to get you familiar with the project at hand, trust me it will help you!
