March 12th

Today we will begin looking at surrealism and what exactly that means in the art world. We will then begin our new surrealist collage. For project instructions and examples refer to the daily power point.

March 8th

Today we will look at a crayon artist and discuss his work. The rest of the day is devoted to students finishing any work they haven't turned in. The end of today is the last day I will accept ANY work from this six weeks.

March 7th

Today we are going to look at Yulia Brodskaya's work and discuss the use of line in her pieces. Today we will be finishing our up our line drawings.

March 6th

Today our warm up will be dissecting art work by Sonja Hinrichsen. After our artist of the day we will be continuing with our varied line projects.

March 5th

Today we will be completing an exercise using various types of line for our warm up. Once the boxes are placed down, go through and fill them in with varying line sizes/widths (various straight line widths,  curvy lines and jagged lines). I will have an example up on the document camera. This will lead into our new expressive line project. We will be using 8 1/2 by 11 paper, and create an interesting composition using various types of lines, widths/sizes.
