April 6th

Today we will be trying something different! We will have two live models posing for us, so that we may create live contour drawings. The last fifteen minutes of class will be practicing in our sketchbooks, three overlapping contour hand drawings. Use all the practice from the past few days and really create a nice composition.

Don't worry, these won't look great. Here is my three minute BLIND contour drawing:

April 5th

Today is the day we assess our peers work. We will begin with a warm up that gets us discussing grades and the project at hand. After this we will move into Contour lines and what that means in art.

April 4th

Illustrating a background for the letter F is today's warm up, it can be found here. Yesterday we decided that another day was needed to complete an ornate letter drawing. Today is the final day to complete the drawing. If you are not finished, you need to take it home and remember to bring it in to class Thursday morning. Thursday's class will be spent critiquing and grading each others work.

April 3rd

Today our warm up will be emulating a certain decorative typeface, which can be found here. The rest of the class period is devoted to finishing the illuminated letter project. Tomorrow we will be grading each classmates project, so remember take your time and make sure it is finished by Wednesday!!
